Higher elevation than the rest of Buttermilk Country, this area boasts proud granite in a quiet setting. The 45 minute uphill trudge is enough to keep most would-be climbers at bay. But for the few and proud willing to make the trek, this area offers plenty of quality granite and wonderful problems scattered across a vast, elevated plateau. If you look closely enough in the right spot, The Druid Stone itself, at over 70 feet tall, can be seen from 395. Here, Chris Morrison warms up on the Sacrificial Boulder. Photo-Al Amores. |
